How do you say “Do you like chocolate?” in Japanese?

Do you like _ ?

_ は好き?

 _ wa suki

“好き (suki)” means “like”.

When you want to say “Do you like _ ?”, put a noun just before “は好き (wa suki)?”.

For example, if you want to say “Do you like chocolate*?”, you can say like this :

 *chocolate = チョコレート (chokorēto)


 chokorēto wa suki

あなた* は好き
Do you like


*We do not usually say “あなた (anata) = you” in everyday conversation.

If you want to speak politely, you can say :
