How do you say “I arrived at the airport.” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
I arrived in / at _ .
_ に着いたよ。
_ ni tsuitayo
If you want to speak politely, you can say :
_ に着きました。
_ ni tsukimashita
When you want to say “I arrived in / at _ .”, put the place where you are just before “に ni”.
For example, if you want to say “I arrived at the airport.”, you can say like this :
- airport = 空港 kuukou*
*We pronounce “kuukou” like “kūkō“.
空港に着いたよ。
kuukouni tsuitayo
Or politely :
空港に着きました。
kuukouni tsukimashita
- I arrived = わたしは着いた watashiwa tsuita
- in … = … に … ni
- at … = … に … ni
We do not usually say “わたしは watashiwa (= I)” in everyday conversation.
… に
in / at …
