How do you say “I can’t wait!” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
I can’t wait!
楽しみ!
tanoshimi
- I = わたしは watashiwa
- can’t wait = 待てない matenai
The literal translation of “I can’t wait!” is “わたしは待てない!(watashiwa matenai)”, but we do not usually say like that. “楽しみ!(tanoshimi)” sounds more natural in this case.
If you want to speak politely, you can say :
楽しみです!
tanoshimi desu
