How do you say “I just arrived at the station.” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
I just arrived in / at _ .
今 _ に着いたとこ。
ima _ ni tsuitatoko
If you want to speak politely, you can say :
今 _ に着いたところです。
ima _ ni tsuitatokorodesu
When you want to say “I just arrived in / at _ .”, put the place where you are just before “に ni”.
For example, if you want to say “I just arrived at the station.”, you can say like this :
- station = 駅 eki
今駅に着いたとこ。
ima ekini tsuitatoko
Or politely :
今駅に着いたところです。
ima ekini tsuitatokorodesu
- I just arrived = わたしは今着いたところです watashiwa ima tsuitatokorodesu
- in … = … に … ni
- at … = … に … ni
We do not usually say “わたしは watashiwa (= I)” in everyday conversation.
… に
in / at …
+
