How do you say “I like your bag!” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
I like your _ !
その _ いいね!
sono _ iine*
*We pronounce like “īne”.
When you want to say “I like your _ !”, put the thing you like just before “いいね”.
For example, if you want to say “I like your bag!*”, you can say like this :
bag = バッグ baggu
そのバッグいいね!
sono baggu iine
- I like … = わたしは … が好き watashiwa … gasuki
- your bag = あなたのバッグ anatano baggu
The literal translation of “I like your bag!” is “わたしはあなたのバッグが好き! (watashiwa anatano bagguga suki)”, but we do not usually say like that.
“そのバッグいいね!” sounds way more natural.
If you want to say “I love your bag!”, add “すごい (sugoi)” before “いいね” :
そのバッグすごいいいね!
sono baggu sugoi iine
“すごい” means “so”.
そのバッグ
