How do you say “I’m single.” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
I’m single.
独身です。
dokushin desu
When your friend asks you if you are married or not, you can answer like this :
独身だよ。
dokushin dayo
(polite)
独身です。
(casual)
独身だよ。
- I’m … = わたしは … です watashiwa … desu
- single = 独身 dokushin
We do not usually say “わたしは watashiwa (= I)” in everyday conversation.
わたしは 独身ですI’m single
