How do you say “I spilled coffee.” in Japanese?

Today’s phrase is :

_ こぼしちゃった。

 _ koboshichatta

If you want to speak politely, you can say :

_ こぼしちゃいました。

 _ koboshichaimashita

When you want to say “I spilled _ .”, put ‘コーヒー(coffee)’ ‘紅茶(tea)’ or something just before “こぼしちゃった” or “こぼしちゃいました”.

  • water = 水 mizu
  • coffee = コーヒー kōhī
  • tea = 紅茶 koucha
  • milk = 牛乳 gyuunyuu

For example, if you want to say “I spilled coffee.”, you can say like this :


 kōhī koboshichatta

Or politely :


 kōhī koboshichaimashita
