How do you say “I usually get up at 6 am.” in Japanese?

Today’s phrase is :

I usually get up at _ .

いつも _ 時に起きてるよ。

 itsumo _ jini okiteruyo

If you want to speak politely, you can say :

いつも _ 時に起きてます。

 itsumo _ jini okitemasu


When you want to say “I usually get up at _ .”, put the time just before “時 ji”.

“時” means “o’clock”.

  • 5 am = 5時 goji
  • 6 am = 6時 rokuji
  • 7 am = 7時 shichiji
  • 8 am = 8時 hachiji
  • 9 am = 9時 kuji
  • 10 am = 10時 juuji

For example, if you want to say “I usually get up at 6 am.”, you can say like this :

いつも6時に起きてるよ。

 itsumo rokujini okiteruyo

Or politely :

いつも6時に起きてます。

 itsumo rokujini okitemasu

  • I = わたしは watashiwa
  • usually = いつも itsumo
  • get up = 起きてる okiteru
  • at … = … に ni

We do not usually say “わたしは watashiwa (= I)” in everyday conversation.
