How do you say “That’s enough!” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
That’s enough!
もういいよ!
mou iiyo*
If you want to speak politely, you can say :
もういいです!
mou iidesu*
We pronounce “mou iiyo” like “mō īyo” and “mou iidesu” like “mō īdesu”.
- that’s = それは sorewa
- enough = もういいです mou iidesu
We do not usually say “それは” in this case. We just simply say “もういいよ” or “もういいです”.
それは もういいですthat’s enough
