How do you say “We’ve been married for 3 years.” in Japanese?

Today’s phrase is :

We’ve been married for _ years.

結婚して _ 年になるよ。

 kekkonshite _ nenni naruyo

If you want to speak politely, you can say :

結婚して _ 年になります。

 kekkonshite _ nenni narimasu

When you want to say “We’ve been married for _ years.”, put the length of time just before “年 nen”.

“年” means “year(s)”.

  • 1 year = 1年 ichi nen
  • 3 years = 3年 san nen
  • 5 years = 5年 go nen
  • 10 years = 10年 juu nen
  • 15 years = 15年 juugo nen
  • 20 years = 20年 nijuu nen

For example, if you want to say “We’ve been married for 3 years.”, you can say like this :


 kekkonshite san nenni naruyo

Or politely :
