How do you say “What did you choose?” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
What did you choose?
何にしたの?
nanini* shitano
If you want to ask politely, you can say :
何にしたんですか?
nanini* shitandesuka
*We often pronounce “nanini” like “nanni” in everyday conversation.
- what = 何 nani
- did you choose = あなたは選んだの anatawa erandano
The literal translation of “What did you choose?” is “何選んだの? nani erandano”.
You can either say “何選んだの?” or “何にしたの?”, but personally, the latter sounds a bit more natural to me.
