How do you say “What’s the date today?” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
What’s the date today?
今日何日だっけ?
kyou* nannichi dakke
If you want to ask politely, you can say :
今日何日でしたっけ?
kyou* nannichi deshitakke
*We do not clearly pronounce the vowels at the end of a word. We pronounce “kyou” like “kyō”.
Pronunciation
- what’s …? = … は何? wa nani
- the date = 日付 hizuke
