How do you say “What’s your address?” in Japanese?
Today’s phrase is :
What’s your address?
住所教えて?
juusho* oshiete
If you want to ask politely, you can say :
住所教えていただけますか?
juusho* oshiete itadakemasuka
*We pronounce “juusho” like “jūsho”.
- 住所 juusho = address
- … 教えて? … oshiete = Can you tell me …?
The literal translation of “住所教えて?” is “Can you tell me your address?”.
We do not usually say “あなたは anatawa (= you)”, “あなたの anatano (= your)” or “わたしに watashini (= me)” in everyday conversation.
あなたの 住所your address
+
あなたは わたしに 教えて?
can you tell me?
